What makes it 77% Kids-Friendly: Children can tackle Sportex simulators, wheelchair basketball and climbing walls, and family tour tickets are discounted; long walks and no prams in aisles are minor but manageable drawbacks.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Includes a 90-minute guided tour, free Sportex time and a quick café stop without rushing younger children.
AIS Guided Public Tour + Sportex:
Take the 90-minute behind-the-scenes walk of the arena and test out interactive challenges in Sportex.
Tip: Book a 10 am or 11:30 am slot online. Kids 5+ can try virtual skiing and wheelchair basketball; bring a helper for your 3-year-old.
Catch a Live Game:
Cheer on the Canberra Capitals or Brave ice hockey team in a family-friendly atmosphere.
Tip: Pick a mid-week match for easier parking. Arrive 30 minutes early to grab family seats and let kids pick up free team giveaways.
Stop by AIS Café & Shop:
Grab snacks or light meals at the café and browse sports gear and Active Packs in the shop.
Tip: Try the sausage rolls and iced drinks. Let each child choose a small souvenir under $15.

Great insight into Australia's premier sporting organisation. We did a tour with the AIS, Tim our tour guide who also is a Volleyball player was extremely knowledgeable and gave us an incredible tour. We would recommend the tour experience and of course Go Aussies.

CANADA v AMERICA: The Arena had been transformed by a team of experienced ice rink Specialists from Adelaide South Australia with help from some local volunteers. Exceptional work done. Facilities at the Arena were really good too. Wide range of foods for the hungry. Will be b...

The venue is ok but parking is more of a hassle than it needs to be. Let people park if they have tickets to the event that night and ensure police drop by during the event to ensure notices are issued if need be.

The Dynasty of Combat show was unforgettable and such a refreshing experience. Awesome to have MMA in our capital! Great venue 🙌

Great venue. The venue is a bit outdated due to it's age. The arena is currently closed for events due to upgrades and is expected to open next year. There is parking on site and reserved parking for accessible. There are accessible toilets in the venue. There is a cafe which you can grab quick snacks from.
In winter, book ice hockey games for indoor excitement. In summer, reserve tour slots early to beat school-holiday crowds and midday heat.
