How Baby-Friendly is Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary?

Parents with a baby get free infant entry, pram-friendly paths, parents’ room and microwave, though loud shows and no infant animal handling drop suitability slightly to 85.

Considerations for visiting Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (with baby)

Positives:

  • Free Baby Entry: Infants under 3 enter free, so you only pay for two adults.
  • Pram-Friendly Paths: Wide, level walkways make it easy to push a pram throughout the park.

Challenges:

  • Open-Air Heat: Many areas have limited shade; bring sun protection and water for your baby.
  • Loud Animal Shows: Shows can be noisy and startle infants; keep some distance if your baby is sensitive.

Recommended visit duration: 3-4 hours

Why 3-4 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: A 3–4 hour visit lets you see key animal encounters and enjoy shows with time for baby breaks.

This is a really cute little wildlife sanctuary only a few minutes from Brisbane. As it's name suggests, there are koalas here, along with dingoes, Australian reptiles and amphibians, flying foxes, parrots, and platypuses to name a few. You can feed and pet kangaroos and wallabies as well. There are photo opportunities with koalas, dingoes, tree kangaroo, and birds of prey. It takes a couple hours...

An amazing sanctuary featuring all the expected wildlife of Australia: koalas, kangaroo, emu, wombat, dingos, Tasmanian devil, fruit bats, various birds, and a platypus. Petted a kangaroo. It's a beautiful park and definitely a must see.

A very nice and well kept animal park. There are different areas and different shows for visitors to enjoy. Although we did not go to see any shows we enjoyed just roaming around, looking for the animals and briefly catching a baby Koala looking out its mother’s pouch. Getting up close with the Kangaroos was another highlight. If you don’t plan on seeing any shows 2-3 hours is more than enough for...

Been here a couple of times in my early days and remembering it was much more happening and fun then (OK that was like 20 years ago). Always a joy to be amongst the free roaming kangaroos and feeding them except when stepping on all the poop around the area. Seeing all the koalas get high was also comical. Sheepdog as always amazing and intelligent and wished I can bring one home. Gift shop kinda ...

Amazing place to visit, allow 3+ hours. So great to see so many koalas and native Australian animals including wombats, Tasmanian devils, native birds, reptiles etc. The free range kangaroos, wallabies and emus section is excellent too. We loved the dingos and barn section/sheepdog demo and the talks were really informative and well pitched. Lots of water points and places to get food which was we...
