What makes it 89% Kids-Friendly: School-age children can handle the one-hour guided tour, role-play in the Democracy Lab, and watch Congress from the gallery; strollers, changing tables, and a café help, but security lines can drag.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time for a guided tour, hands-on exhibits, and a snack break without rushing young children.

To be at the place the symbolizes America's voice is hard to describe. It's a breathtaking place, you will admire it's beauty inside and out, star-struck. While visiting, frustrations about those who govern may arise, but that should only remind us that our voices are more important than we think. For those able to visit, it is worth the trip at least more than once in your life.

A most amazing experience every American should look at the history! The dome and the middle of the capital was the most beautiful American architectural part and many a favorite! Especially for Lincoln fans. Also the tours were great and not to busy. The statues have rich history and mostly the main course.

The United States Capitol is perhaps one of my favorite buildings in the world. It's a delight to explore the surrounding areas, no matter the time of day. I haven't had the chance to do a tour yet, but it's definitely on my list for the future. The tulips in the spring and the Christmas tree in December add a special charm to the place. Whenever I'm in DC, I make it a point to spend at least 30 m...
Spring: Combine your visit with nearby cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin. Summer: Book the earliest tour slot to avoid heat on the grounds. Winter: Enjoy thinner crowds and holiday decorations in the Visitor Center.
