What makes it 90% Couple-Friendly: Couples enjoy dramatic sunsets, bluff strolls, and romantic seclusion for photos or picnics. Absence of railings, lighting, food, and restrooms means they must bring supplies and stay back from edges.
Why 1-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Enough time to hike the bluff trail, explore tide pools, and catch sunset for a relaxed outing.
Sunset viewing at Luscomb Point:
Perch at the cliff’s edge to watch the sun dip into the Pacific.
Tip: Bring a blanket or low stool and arrive 30 minutes before sunset.

Tip: Wear sun protection, pack water, and pause at clearings for ocean photos.
Tide pools exploration:
Descend to rocky pools at low tide to spot anemones and crabs.
Tip: Check tide charts in advance and wear sturdy closed-toe water shoes.
Guided sea-cave adventure:
Join a small-group tour to explore hidden sea caves safely.

SCNP offers several trails that will take down the Cliff and to the beach but you must be careful not to slip. Please wear hiking shoes or at least Non/Slipping footwear. Be careful not let children run loose by themselves, hold them by the hand and make sure to tell them not to run or get too c...

Amazing views. We came here for sunset and it was incredibly peaceful. The ocean, the cliffs, and the sound of the waves make it a perfect place to just sit and relax. Watching the sun slowly go down felt calming and refreshing. A great spot to clear your mind, take photos, and enjoy nature. Definitely one of the best sunset places around.

Beautiful coastal park in San Diego. Tide pools (low tide), fantastic rock formations, scenic views. Parking can be a bit sketchy on the weekends in nice weather and it's Sam Diego so that is 300+ days a year but you can find a spot of you are determined. Wonderful time any part of the day but especially at sunset (duh) and/or low tide.
