What makes it 80% Kids-Friendly: Secure railings, elevator, trolley loops and child fares on Maid of the Mist engage 6-12s, yet ongoing Crow’s Nest closure, slick wet areas and few hands-on displays may shorten visits.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for the Observation Tower, a boat ride, snack break and a trolley loop without rushing young kids.
Observation Tower deck:
Walk the glass-and-steel deck over the gorge for up-close falls views.
Tip: Use the free elevator and head there early to avoid lines.
Maid of the Mist boat tour:
Share the classic boat ride into the mist at the base of the falls.
Tip: Pick up free ponchos on the dock and secure life jackets for kids.
Crow’s Nest platform:
Descend via stairs to feel spray at the gorge base.
Tip: Check current status; construction may close this until 2026.
Niagara Scenic Trolley:
Ride a narrated loop of the park to rest little legs.
Tip: Board near the Tower; kids enjoy driver’s fun facts.

Fantastic visit and breath taking views. Never been here before and it was worth the trip. Only except debit and credit cards, no cash.

Spectacular! I absolutely loved Niagara Falls — without a doubt, it's a memorable experience that I would love to repeat someday. I highly recommend the excursion beneath the falls; the view is absolutely beautiful.

After visiting the waterfalls on the Canadian side, we drove into the United States and came to Niagara Falls State Park in New York State. We couldn't see the entire waterfall on this side, but we could see the river and the Canadian scenery. Although there are beautiful parks and visitor centers on the American side, the shops outside are a bit deserted and crowded.

This whole area is stunning! But we visited on 4th of July week and sat 2.5 hours in this same spot so we could get front row of the fireworks. I am so glad we did because when they were over, we looked behind us and couldn't see anything but heads behind us all the way through the park, I've seen less people at a concert lol.
