What makes it 47% Kids-Friendly: School-age kids may enjoy watching agility dogs and a short flat trail, but no playground, distant restrooms and unpredictable off-leash dogs reduce safety and convenience.
Note: Lewiston Dog Park is 47% Kids-Friendly. You may want to consider other Kids-Friendly Things to Do in Niagara Falls for a more suitable experience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Let kids watch pups play, picnic, and stroll the Gorge trail.
Watch dogs in off-leash runs:
Kids can observe dogs use tunnels, ramps, and agility obstacles in separate small- and large-dog areas.
Tip: Visit weekday mornings to find empty runs and let children safely get close to the fence.
Stroll River’s Edge Trail:
Follow the paved path along the Niagara Gorge for gentle views and light exercise.
Tip: Use hand-height rails for support and point out river rapids to the kids along the way.
Picnic at park benches:
Enjoy lunch at shaded tables near the dog park or along the trail.
Tip: Arrive before noon to claim a shaded spot and pack a blanket in case tables fill.
Explore Artpark installations:
Discover outdoor sculptures and art pieces scattered through the park grounds.
Tip: Turn it into a scavenger hunt by printing a park map from Artpark’s website in advance.

Nice large park with some seating and running water; my largest concern was the absolute lack of shade. Lovely local folks take pride in the maintenance and cleanliness of the park, which is always lovely!

Nice play area for my dog. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful scenery. My dog, Teddy loves going to the dog park and he’s always worn out when we leave. Great place. ❤️🐶

I've been enjoying this wonderful dog park for a couple of weeks now, and I haven't had any negative experiences. They always provide waste bags and fresh water for the dogs, as well as plenty of balls and toys. The other visitors have all been very pleasant, which makes it even better.
