What makes it 65% Baby-Friendly: Infants enter free, strollers roll easily and restrooms have changing tables, but there is no private nursing room and almost no exhibits designed for under-twos, reducing convenience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time to ride carousels, view exhibits, and take breaks with your baby
Ride the adult carousel with baby:
Use included tokens to board the restored 1916 “Number One Special” and seat your baby in the chariot tub
Tip: Ask the attendant to reserve a chariot carriage next to you
Explore exhibits with stroller:
Push your stroller through wide aisles to see the Carving Floor, Paint Shop and Wurlitzer Music Department
Tip: Start at the Music Department and follow the route clockwise to avoid backtracking

Tip: Pick one up at the gift shop counter at the start of your visit
Use family restrooms:
Find single-stall, ADA-accessible restrooms with built-in changing tables

Browse the gift shop:
Shop for small keepsakes like miniature carousel animals and music rolls
Tip: Visit the quieter mid-afternoon hours for stress-free browsing

Ian, the curator was great we had a large group and he projected his voice so all could hear him. Knows his carrousel history and makes the presentation very interesting with human touches as he went along. They are saving a part of history. The ride at the end was a blast, kids will love it well worth a visit if you are in the area.

This place is absolutely fascinating and I learned a lot about the Herschell carousel company and all the rides and games made by them, including a delightfully twisted take on the striking machine where instead ...

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, my wife and I visited the Niagara Falls region. Knowing we’d be in the area, I planned a surprise for her, something to transport her back to childhood, to a time of innocence and simple delight. She had no idea where we were headed (I even had her cover her eyes as I entered the GPS coordinates), and the suspense only grew as we pulled out of the Goat Island parking ...

Very nice museum with a lot of information and history. Admission is only $9 per person. They had a big carousel and a smaller carousel for kids. They also have some other rides for kids. The employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. It took us approximately 30 minutes to go through everything and ride the big carousel.
In summer, attend the seasonal Summer Nights events for extended carousel hours and light refreshments; check the museum calendar before planning
