What makes it 66% Kids-Friendly: Free fishing for under-16s, a short wildlife trail, and swings keep children busy, but reported glass in playground and no lifeguard at docks demand close adult watch.
Why 2–3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for playground, nature walk, picnic, fishing, and a short kayak outing without rushing kids.
Playground Playtime:
Let kids burn energy on swings and slides at the basic play area.
Tip: Scan the ground first for sharp rocks or broken glass before play.
Nature Trail Treasure Hunt:
Follow the paved riverside path and spot fish, geese, frogs, and mussels.
Tip: Bring a small bucket or magnifying glass to inspect finds up close.
Picnic by the Water:
Use riverside benches and grassy slopes for lunch and family games.
Tip: Pack sandwiches, refillable water, and a trash bag to leave no litter.
Fishing Adventure:
Fish from the boat-launch docks; kids under 16 fish free.
Tip: Adults need a $5 one-day NY license; bring simple rods and bait.
Family Kayak Paddle:
Rent kayaks at Niagara Outfitters and launch from the park ramp.
Tip: Choose tandem for younger kids and confirm sizes when you book.

Really neat, clean, well cared for. You pay for parking in the boat launch parking, but one lot over is free. Lots of park benches, but I'd love a few picnic tables. Rest rooms available. Great access to the bike trail!

Installed a parking meter with no signage going into the park to let everyone know. The park has been free for years. Parking meter is completely hidden by parked vehicles. So no sign and a hidden parking meter. Parking enforcement gave everyone a $50 ticket. Absolute legal scam by city of Niagara Falls parking enforcement to take peoples money.

Enjoy the serene creek and sites of homes and backyards along th...

This is a horrible playground full of broken glass sharp rocks and weeds. This could be good for a big kids park but its sized for smaller kids that fall down alot.
Spring brings wildflowers along the riverbank. Summer can be hot—visit early and use sunscreen. Fall foliage reflects in the water. Winter paths may ice over—wear sturdy shoes.
