What makes it 70% Couple-Friendly: Riverfront benches, sunset walks, and tandem kayak launches make an easy, low-cost romantic outing. Absence of food vendors and dim lighting after dusk cap its couple appeal.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: This gives time to stroll the riverside trail, enjoy a picnic, snap historic photos, and try a tandem kayak trip without rushing.
Riverside picnic at park benches:
Bring snacks or a packed lunch and settle on one of the benches facing the marina.
Tip: Arrive before noon for a quieter spot and shade in summer.
Sunrise or sunset nature-trail stroll:
Follow the short loop along the Little Niagara River for bird-watching and water views.
Tip: Carry binoculars and start 30 minutes before sunrise or sunset for the best light.
Historic Griffon rock photo stop:
Read the 1679 Griffon ship plaque and take a photo by the sculpted stone marker.
Tip: Position yourselves with the river in the background for vivid couple portraits.
Tandem kayak outing:
Rent a two-person kayak from Niagara Outfitters and launch at the park ramp.
Tip: Reserve in advance online and arrive 15 minutes early for gear fitting.
Shared fishing session on the dock:
Fish side by side for bass and panfish from the public boat ramp.
Tip: Pick up a one-day NY fishing license ($5 per person) at a local vendor before you go.

Really neat, clean, well cared for. You pay for parking in the boat launch parking, but one lot over is free. Lots of park benches, but I'd love a few picnic tables. Rest rooms available. Great access to the bike trail!

Installed a parking meter with no signage going into the park to let everyone know. The park has been free for years. Parking meter is completely hidden by parked vehicles. So no sign and a hidden parking meter. Parking enforcement gave everyone a $50 ticket. Absolute legal scam by city of Niagara Falls parking enforcement to take peoples money.

Head left towards Niagara River first to enjoy the current as you head west towards the GI bridge. Loop around at the point, turn right and kayak back to your starting spot. Enjoy the serene creek and sites of homes and backyards along th...

This is a horrible playground full of broken glass sharp rocks and weeds. This could be good for a big kids park but its sized for smaller kids that fall down alot.
Late spring through early fall offer calm water for kayaking and active bird life. Autumn colors peak in October along the riverbank. Winter brings ice on paths and disables kayak rentals.
