Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel (solo trip)

This was my second time staying at the hotel, and it was special, thanks to Robert and Chloe at the restaurant. I had a wonderful dining experience! Great welcome at reception which set a lovely tone! Andrea was brilliant!! Sadly it went downhill from there with keys that didn't work, a bar that shut at 11pm (early for residents) and very dirty toilets. Check out was great so the team at the entrance get all the credit.

We stayed for the second time here recently and all I can say is, the staff are amazing!! The hotel itself is nice enough, no major complaints really. It is a bit dated in some parts and the rooms are quite basic compared to other hotels we have stayed in, but the rooms are comfortable enough and we both had a good nights sleep. Had I not been attending the conference and it being convenient, I would likely choose an alternative hotel next time I stay in the area due to the basic room. Room a bit basic compared to some other Mecures I have stayed in. The food menu in the restaurant was lacking! Not a lot of choice but the salad I had was quite nice!
