What makes it 74% Baby-Friendly: Flat paved paths suit prams and a baby-change table sits in café toilets, yet facilities shut with the café and there is no dedicated nursing room, so confirm hours first.
Why 2–3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for a leisurely pram-friendly walk, a picnic, farm visit and a café break without tiring the baby.
Pram-friendly stroll:
Follow the flat, paved loop around the walled garden and North Lodge.
Tip: Use park benches every 200 m for rests and shade.
Picnic by Cob House pond:
Shaded tables overlook the pond in the walled garden.
Tip: Bring a blanket and your own snacks; the grass area is perfect for baby play.
Horticultural Centre visit:
Explore glasshouses, aviary and themed outdoor gardens.
Tip: Check glasshouse opening times (Wed–Sun 12–4 pm) and avoid maintenance closures.
Community Farm viewing:
Observe pigs, sheep and seasonal baby animals from the barn doorway.
Tip: Visit at midday to see feeding times; stay on the gravel path for pram access.
Break at Courtyard Café:
Use indoor seating, toilets and baby-change table next to the café.
Tip: Cafe hours vary; call ahead to confirm opening times and seating availability.

Visited for a concert (twice, on separate years) and this review is based upon just that experience. The signposting isn't brilliant - especially upon exit (after the concerts) - with poor lane availablity - there were lots of bottlenecks for people trying to get out on the southern side of the park. Other than that, it is a good venue, with a nice wide area for the stage. The layout has changed e...

So the park overall plenty to see and do. There is a Car park close by with disability spaces available .The farm area was filled with animals needs a bit of care towards areas like walk areas aren’t made muddy especially on a very hot day, animals need accessible water on such hot days which I did not see around. There is no wash basin after petting the animals so people tend to go to the toilets...

A large urban park with an historic old hall, small farm and an amazing, hidden Horticultural Centre with a wide variety of unusual plants and Koi carp.

Beautiful park with lots of activities. On the park there is a playground, garden with plants and fish, tennis court, football pitch, bicycle tracks and many more. Parking is free. You can find an ice cream van everyday and there is a small cafe where you can buy a snack or a coffee. There are plenty of activities for the whole family, so come along and enjoy the day!!!

The park is well kept, with plenty of benches, flat paths for walking or cycling, and a relaxed atmosphere. The community farm and horticultural centre add extra interest, especially for younger visitors. There’s also a goo...
In spring/summer spot lambs and piglets at the farm. In wet months bring waterproofs and choose paved routes to avoid mud.
