How Baby-Friendly is CERN?

66%Baby-Friendly
View Map

What makes it 66% Baby-Friendly: Babies are welcome in stroller-friendly halls with lifts and changing tables, yet workshops ban under-5s and long tours with steps reduce comfort, so the outing is feasible but less rewarding for infants.

(from 2,942 reviews)

Positives:

  • Free Entry: All exhibitions and science shows are free, so you can explore without a ticket cost.
  • Stroller Access: Most areas have ramps and lifts, making it easy to move around with a stroller.

Challenges:

  • Tours Not Baby-Friendly: Guided tours involve stairs and long standing periods, so they may be difficult with a baby.
  • Limited Baby Engagement: Science shows and workshops target older children; content may not hold a baby’s attention.

Very interesting place, plenty to see and the presentations are great. Very close public transport access so very easy to get to. However I tried several times to get onto the guided tours and wasn't successful. The tickets dissapeared as soon as released. Maybe I choose a day which was too busy

CERN is a very interesting place to visit and highly recommended. It's free. It is best to go early, as it gets crowded between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Everything is clearly explained and easy to understand. Take your time with the interactive games, as they are very engaging. I spent about five hours there and also had lunch on site. Access is very easy, as you can reach it directly by tram 18.👍🏻🤓

Visiting CERN in Geneva was an incredible experience ✨. The tour is very dynamic and full of learning, with clear explanations adapted to several languages. I loved the practical exercises and interactive activities that make even the most complex concepts easy to understand. Truly a unique place where science feels close and inspiring. Highly recommended!
