What makes it 66% Baby-Friendly: Babies are welcome in stroller-friendly halls with lifts and changing tables, yet workshops ban under-5s and long tours with steps reduce comfort, so the outing is feasible but less rewarding for infants.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Short, indoor visit ideal with a baby and includes exhibits and breaks.
Science Gateway Exhibitions:
Explore interactive displays on particle physics and CERN history.
Tip: Use lifts for strollers and pause at benches near displays.
Big Bang Café Break:
Enjoy snacks and meals in a family-friendly area with high chairs.
Tip: Ask staff for a high chair and use nearby baby-changing facilities.
Baby-Changing and Nursing Rooms:
Access baby-changing tables and a private nursing room in the hostel.
Tip: Request the nursing room key at the hostel reception before your visit.

Very interesting place, plenty to see and the presentations are great. Very close public transport access so very easy to get to. However I tried several times to get onto the guided tours and wasn't successful. The tickets dissapeared as soon as released. Maybe I choose a day which was too busy

CERN is a very interesting place to visit and highly recommended. It's free. It is best to go early, as it gets crowded between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Everything is clearly explained and easy to understand. Take your time with the interactive games, as they are very engaging. I spent about five hours there and also had lunch on site. Access is very easy, as you can reach it directly by tram 18.👍🏻🤓

Absolutely fascinating experience. The guided tour and the workshops were incredible, the staff was very kind and helpful and it really can give you back the spark back about research. Highly recommend visiting CERN ❤️

Visiting CERN in Geneva was an incredible experience ✨. The tour is very dynamic and full of learning, with clear explanations adapted to several languages. I loved the practical exercises and interactive activities that make even the most complex concepts easy to understand. Truly a unique place where science feels close and inspiring. Highly recommended!
CERN is indoors and open year-round, but is closed on Mondays and Swiss public holidays. Check opening days before visiting.
