What makes it 76% Kids-Friendly: The aquarium tunnel, Maritime Museum galley and short harbour cruises fascinate 4-12s, yet open quayside drops and the lack of playgrounds mean parents must supervise closely at all times.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for the aquarium, boat ride, museum and a leisurely stroll without rushing young children.
L’Aquàrium de Barcelona:
Walk through the 80 m underwater tunnel and see sharks, rays and touch pools.
Tip: Buy skip-the-line tickets online and visit in the morning for feeding demonstrations.
Golondrinas Boat Ride:
Enjoy a 40-minute two-deck cruise around Port Vell with views of the Clock Tower and Montjuïc.
Tip: Arrive 15 minutes early to grab seats on the upper deck and bring sun hats.
Barcelona Maritime Museum:
Climb aboard a full-scale galley, explore model ships and try interactive navigation games.
Tip: Pick up the free activity sheet at the entrance and let kids steer at the demo stations.
Rambla del Mar Stroll:
Walk the curved wooden bridge linking La Rambla and Maremagnum with wide safe planks.
Tip: Let kids run and use simple binoculars to spot docked yachts and boats.
Weekend Antiques Market:
Browse stalls near the Columbus Monument for old toys, coins and trinkets (Fri–Sun).
Tip: Give each child a small budget for a souvenir and go early for the best finds.

This is a great place to cruise from. Very efficient, very clean inside. Staff could be a little happier, but we love embarking from this port. It would always be our first choice. Not far from the airport and some great hotels.

Take a trip around the port to really enjoy the views and see everything Barcelona has to offer.

Port of Barcelona is centrally located where you would take cruises. We stayed in the neighborhood of Barceloneta, which is a prime spot with pedestrian walkways along with bars and restaurants, and very close to the port, so easy access for next day on our cruise.

The port is really beautiful, nice view if you're on a cruise specially. The best option to go to see the tourists attractions is by taxi , and is really easy to find one on the port. Mostly all of them will accept card payment , which is really great specially for people who doesn't use money. Clean area and staff really friendly.

It's a great place to go for a stroll. You'll see the huge ferries, the floating sculptures, the bridge to Maremagnum shopping centre. During the day there are markets where people set out their fake designer brand handbags, shoes, clothing etc on giant rugs on the ground, along the path heading toward the expensive yachts.
In summer, do water activities early to avoid midday heat and bring sunscreen. In spring and fall, enjoy mild weather and fewer crowds. In winter, check boat schedules as services may run less often.
