Positives:

  • Flat, stroller-friendly paths: The Rambla del Mar and Maremagnum offer smooth, wide walkways for prams.
  • Family facilities: Every terminal has free baby-changing tables and accessible restrooms.

Challenges:

  • Limited nursing rooms: There are no dedicated lactation rooms in the port; use seating areas or nearby Plaza Mar 2.
  • Dim or narrow areas: Some spots in the Aquarium and Maritime Museum have low light or stairs—check stroller access.

This is a great place to cruise from. Very efficient, very clean inside. Staff could be a little happier, but we love embarking from this port. It would always be our first choice. Not far from the airport and some great hotels.

Port of Barcelona is centrally located where you would take cruises. We stayed in the neighborhood of Barceloneta, which is a prime spot with pedestrian walkways along with bars and restaurants, and very close to the port, so easy access for next day on our cruise.

The port is really beautiful, nice view if you're on a cruise specially. The best option to go to see the tourists attractions is by taxi , and is really easy to find one on the port. Mostly all of them will accept card payment , which is really great specially for people who doesn't use money. Clean area and staff really friendly.

It's a great place to go for a stroll. You'll see the huge ferries, the floating sculptures, the bridge to Maremagnum shopping centre. During the day there are markets where people set out their fake designer brand handbags, shoes, clothing etc on giant rugs on the ground, along the path heading toward the expensive yachts.

When is the best time to visit Port of Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain)?

In summer, stroll in the morning or late afternoon to avoid heat. In winter, dress in layers for sea breezes.
