Weekend workshops, activity sheets and an outdoor sculpture park engage children, and stroller rentals help parents, yet no playground and quiet gallery rules limit energy after about an hour.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows kids to explore the sculpture park, complete an activity sheet, and visit one special exhibition without rush.
Outdoor Sculpture Park:
Let kids roam large sculptures in the open plaza behind the museum.
Tip: Start here to burn energy and snap family photos before indoor galleries.
Family Activity Sheet:
Pick up a free art-spotting game sheet at the front desk.
Tip: Ask staff for the latest sheet and set small prize goals for each gallery.
Weekend Family Workshop:
Join free or low-cost craft sessions and film screenings on weekends.
Tip: Check the “Cultural Events” page and reserve your spots online a week in advance.
SeMA Docent Tour App:
Use the free audio tour in English and Korean to guide your visit.
Tip: Download the app and offline maps before arrival to avoid delays.
SeMA Cafe+ Break:
Enjoy coffee, light snacks, and kid-friendly seating in the lobby café.
Tip: Order simple drinks and use nearby benches if the café tables are full.

Went late Friday which was nice . Free entry is nice. Some nice art works. But overall not a very good art museum. Wondering where in Seoul can see some serious works from past 100 or 200 years ? This SeMA is not the best sorry

Great place to experience some of the modern art pieces and new age of art thinkers and culture in South Korea. Most of the information placards in English. FREE entrance! Plenty of lockers that are free to use downstairs.
