Rotating shows, sculpture park, photo-worthy historic façade and a cozy café create varied shared moments, while low fees and Friday late hours support an unrushed date atmosphere.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Allows time for permanent galleries, a special exhibition, outdoor sculptures, and a café break.
Stroll the permanent galleries:
Browse SeMA’s six free exhibition rooms featuring paintings, sculptures, and media art.
Tip: Pick up a floor map at the lobby and cover two rooms per floor at a relaxed pace.
Visit a special exhibition:
See rotating themed shows in the main hall featuring international artists.
Tip: Book tickets online to skip the line; expect around 13,000 KRW per person.
Use the Docent Tour App:
Listen to self-guided audio tours in English or Korean for deeper insights.
Tip: Download the app before your visit and bring headphones.
Relax at SeMA Cafe+:
Enjoy lattes and light snacks in a bright café setting.
Tip: Try the seasonal tea and sit by the window to watch visitors in the lobby.
Wander the outdoor Sculpture Park:
Walk the plaza behind the museum to see permanent stone and metal works.
Tip: Combine with SeMA WALK along Deoksugung-gil for a scenic route.

Great place to experience some of the modern art pieces and new age of art thinkers and culture in South Korea. Most of the information placards in English. FREE entrance! Plenty of lockers that are free to use downstairs.
