Kids can build firm black-sand castles, catch crabs, and rent floats; free showers help cleanup, but sand heats fast and deeper water requires vigilant adult supervision.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: 2-3 hours lets kids build sandcastles, spot crabs, and rinse off before fatigue.
Crab Catching on Rocks:
Kids lift rocks at low tide to find small crabs along the shore.
Tip: Bring a small net and bucket to collect and observe crabs safely.
Sandcastle Building:
Black volcanic sand holds shape well for castles and sculptures.
Tip: Use damp sand near the waterline for firmer structures.
Tube & Float Rental:
Rent inflatable tubes to float in shallow water.
Tip: Choose tubes with child handles and stay within arm’s reach.
Beach Soccer:
Join free beach soccer games during the July festival.
Tip: Check local schedule around July 19–20 for family matches.
Clean Showers & Changing Rooms:
Use free shower booths and indoor changing rooms after play.
Tip: Bring a change of clothes and towels to rinse off sand.

This beach had some nice black sand. Very fine and neat to look at. Not as many folks on this beach as Hamdeok beach, but it is both smaller and located much more residential. When I was there in 27 Sep 2020, there seemed to be a lot of construction around the each which is why it lost a star. Not a ton of benches or places to sit either. Had a few restaurants near by as well.

A very pretty beach with many facilities and food shops nearby.

Great beach. The black sand is so soft on your bear feet.

Highly recommended. It has nice scenery and black colour sand makes this beach special.

Black sands with seas that blend in with the horizon, and ships lighting their lamps on the horizon. Amazingly beautiful!
