Children up to 12 can splash in the shallow, lifeguarded zone and build sandcastles, yet parents must budget for shade rentals and manage heavy summer crowds for comfort.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to play in shallow water, build sandcastles, and enjoy a picnic without tiring younger children.
Build Sandcastles:
Use the fine, white sand to create towers and moats.
Tip: Bring a bucket and shovel or rent a sand-toy set on site for about 5,000 KRW.
Splash in Shallow Water:
Let kids wade in ankle-to-knee-deep water safely.
Tip: Stay inside the lifeguarded zone and by midday the water is calm and clear.
Walk the Volcanic Bridge:
Step onto the natural stone walkway jutting into the sea.
Tip: Visit at low tide for easy access and watch out for slippery basalt.
Picnic on the Beach:
Lay out a mat near the paved promenade for snacks.
Tip: Buy fresh watermelon or sashimi at nearby stalls and bring a beach mat.
Climb to the Lighthouse:
Follow the path to the basalt lighthouse for coastal views.
Tip: Wear sturdy shoes and go early to avoid midday heat.

Loved this beach except there isn’t any shade so you have to bring your own. Most people with tents were respectful and set up at the back. There’s a trail on the east side to walk along.

The beach is neatly maintained, and is pretty huge too. Walking from one corner to the other is a task in itself. The waters are serene and peaceful. The beach has some great sand art that is photogenic. It is not that crowded too which makes it a perfect spot to spend some good quality quiet time.

Beautiful beach. White sands. I imagine it would be nicer in the warmer months when you can enjoy the water. Otherwise, there's not much to do here. Photo ops are plentiful, though.

Probably the best beach overall in Jeju. Really awesome! Perfect sand, nice clear water and great landscape to back it all. Has water sports and nice local stalls to add to the charm and also has a nice mountain trail nearby to add to the adventure. Great place for families to spend a day out. Connected well with public transport
