What makes it 40% Baby-Friendly: Lifts permit pram entry and staff can suggest quiet corners, yet no baby-change tables, no baby-friendly shows and loud acoustics make visits uncomfortable for most infants.
Note: Isaac Theatre Royal is 40% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Christchurch for a more suitable experience.
Why 2–3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for arrival, settling your baby, and enjoying a full performance without rush.
Book aisle seats:
Reserve aisle-side seating to keep your pram nearby.
Tip: Contact the box office early to request stroller space at your seat.
Use accessible restrooms:
Head to larger washrooms on any level for nappy changes.
Tip: The Stalls foyer toilets on the ground floor offer easiest pram access.
Arrange a private feeding spot:
Ask Front-of-House staff for a quiet corner to breastfeed or bottle-feed.
Tip: Arrive 15 minutes early to discuss your baby’s needs with staff.

It was my first time to pay a visit to Isaac Theatre Royal for the Dracula Ballet Premier. I enjoyed everything - the setting, beautiful interior and good facilities, customer service excellence, not to mention that I am a ballet enthusiast and was very pleased that the Dracula came to Christchurch as part of their world tour. Five stars, highly recommended.

Went to see the ballet Dracula. It was superb. The dancing was passionate, artistic and powerful. Great telling of the classic story.

Every time I've been here I've had an amazing experience! The staff are always very supportive and the shows are a lot of fun to go to! Cant wait to be back here!

The most amazing experience at Blood Brothers 4pm Show on Sunday., the show was outstanding. Over and above that, was the extra attention given to me by a lovely usher , having very recently had a foot fracture and I was in a moonboot with crutches. Thank you Maggie for popping my crutches away under my seat for me and getting me a small pillow to put my leg on and also coming back at half time...

Last night Royal New Zealand ballet presents Firebird with my Brilliant careers. The ballet dancers dance beautiful and haven't been to the theatre 🎭 for long time since last I watch ballet when I was a teenager. Amazing ballet and nice theatre 🐦🔥🩰
In winter, bring a warm blanket for the cold foyers. In summer, plan brief outdoor breaks via the elevator lobby to cool your baby.
