Took a tour around the city on the hop-on hop-off heritage tram. Plenty of city info and history told by our driver with a number of stops to get on and off from historical sites to museums etc. Worth staying in for a full circuit first to help get your Christchurch bearings before hopping off to visit places. Love an old tram.

Enjoyable 40 minute ride around central Christchurch which while modern and busy still has plenty of earthquake damage. The commentary is interesting but there's no translation available.

An hour to spend in the tram in the city is worthy. Tickets are full day hop on and off, so start from anywhere and then use the tram to visit different point of the city during the day. It is nice to keep the heritage tram operational. The main tram station in the Cathedral is very beautiful.

Quirky thrill riding the trams through Christchurch. Book tickets online. Redeem at the starting point office. Hop on and off to your hearts-content. Most stop near points of interest or other attractions along the way. Worth it even if only for the thrill of joy-riding!
In summer, bring sun hats and water bottles for open-air seating. In winter, dress kids in layers; the tram is partly covered but can feel cold.
