What makes it 77% Baby-Friendly: Shaded sandy bays, stroller-friendly reserves and baby-gear hire ease visits, yet pram access on some tracks and ferry boarding gaps demand lifting, and few indoor nursing rooms are listed.
Why 1-2 days visit duration is ideal for with baby: A full day allows beach and walk time; an overnight stay lets you split activities around your baby’s naps and avoid rushing.
Oneroa Beach visit:
Relax on a gentle golden-sand beach with shallow water.
Tip: Use the nearby car park for stroller access and rest under pohutukawa shade.
Tawaipareira Reserve stroll:
Follow smooth, pram-friendly trails through a grassy reserve.
Tip: Pause at picnic tables under trees for baby breaks and diaper changes.
Ostend Market:
Browse covered stalls of crafts, fresh food and coffee.
Tip: Arrive before 10am to find parking close to stroller-friendly aisles.
Passage Rock Café & lawns:
Café with high chairs and a flat, grassy lawn ideal for baby play.
Tip: Ask staff for a high chair and park your pram under shade near the lawn.
Connells Bay Sculpture Park walk:
Stroll a flat 500m path to seafront sculptures and benches.
Tip: Keep the pram on the marked path and rest at benches for sea views.

The ferry ride to any of the islands is a must when you are in Auckland. Stunning & peaceful beaches & shores. Beautiful vineyards. The island has enough activities to choose from. There are scenic lookouts where you can enjoy the present doing nothing. There are no vehicles, other than the hop in hop off buses. These buses take you everywhere on the island.

Beautiful island with a determinedly rural vibe despite proximity to New Zealand's largest city. There are wineries and secenic lookouts and the island is easily reachable on the regular ferries from central Auckland
