Not a huge museum but some very interesting displays and information about the New Zealand Navy. Walkable from the ferry pier or you can take an AT bus.

Came here on a rainy day with my 18month old. To start the staff are all really lovely and welcoming. The cafe does a good coffee and the blueberry muffin was delicious. The museum was great with a little one as there was plenty to see but it wasn’t huge and all the displays were low so he could easily see everything.

Interesting place to visit in Devonport. We were there after 4pm so entry was free but I'd encourage others to make a donation. There are models of NZ and British vessels with mementos and descriptions of sea battles. By the pier behind the museum is a salt water swimming pool that assisted in the recovery of wounded servicemen.

Lovely spot with great view, nice cafe, outdoor playground. Not a huge place, but many interesting stuff if you are into this part of the history. Very friendly staff with great knowledge. North head and Mt Victoria are close by.
Ferry and café get busier on summer weekends; visit on weekdays or early mornings for a quieter experience.
