I have been in Giethoorn so many times with different friends from Vietnam and still this little village has too much charm to discover. Definitely reccomend at least half day visit during spring (late April - June) or pre-fall (September-early October). Especially on a sunny day. Do: rent a boat - try fresh make stroopwafel - have lunch in one of the village cafe by the canal with hidden garden -...

Venice of the Netherlands. Beautiful, green and breathtaking town. Definitely worth a visit. Make sure you also experience a boat trip there.

So lovely. It was a great way to spend a day outside of the city, in the countryside. Beautiful little village and fun canal tour. Food was delicious as well.

It was so nice to explore the village in a small boat which is driven by you with an electric motor. Amazed by the houses alongside the water. It was a bit chill since we visited it in the first week of April. The best time to visit is during summer. Parking was not included in the ticket but you can find a few parking lots at the location.
Summer mornings are quieter before tour boats launch. Winter canals may freeze—check local ice reports before booking any boat.
