Cititel Penang (solo trip)

Stayed here over the weekend with some friends. Got the std rooms initially. Was not too pleased. The staff upgraded me to the deluxe cat rooms for a fair price and I was pleased. We already have been to Cititel for several times. The location is perfect as most of the attractions of Georgetown are within walking distance. Rooms are extremely clean. The breakfast buffet offers a tasty and wide ranging selection of food. The staff especially at the restaurant and the reception is friendly, competent and always helpful. All that for a very good price-performance ratio.

The things that stood out most here - location and staff. It is walking distance to all the popular food places, heritage areas and popular night life streets. The location is amazing. It is in the heart of Georgetown. Rooms are well maintained and clean. The view from our room was beautiful. Their breakfast buffet was a feast. As a vegetarian, I was spoilt for choice. There was no smell of non veg food though the veg and non veg sections were together. I feel that this shows the class of a hotel. It's a luxurious stay at an affordable price.
