What makes it 70% Kids-Friendly: School-age children enjoy watching giant tuna cuts, grabbing ¥100 tamagoyaki, and resting in Uogashi, yet slippery floors, knives, and congested aisles require close supervision and earlier, quieter arrival.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Short visit fits kids’ attention spans and covers main stalls without rushing.
Tamagoyaki Sticks:

Tuna-Cutting Demonstration:
Watch vendors slice a whole tuna with large knives

Uogashi Food Court:
Air-conditioned indoor dining with seats and free rest tables

Despite many people saying to avoid due to tourist trapping, it’s really going to be up to you make the decision if certain stalls are worth it. Most spots that require longer waits generally prove to be better but feel free to look around to see what people may have missed. Super packed so expect to march like herding sheep but the food experience was nice to have tried being in there.

Had a great time walking around the old fish market. Different little stalls selling fresh fish, Wagyu beef on a stick with uni, fresh fruits, matcha, coffee, and mochi. Price may not be cheap but the quality was excellent. Good to visit before 9AM to beat the crowd. Most stalls closes at 2PM in the afternoon.

From fresh sushi to grilled seafood skewers, there’s something to satisfy every palate. The vibrant energy of the market, combined with ...
