Sapporo Excel Hotel Tokyu (solo trip)

Nice hotel with warm service and great access to the subway. There's a really great view of the Sapporo TV Tower and the nearby area is pretty quiet. It is close to convenience stores and is very reliable. Strongly recommend.

The room is clean and spacious. We love the blackout curtain being truly a blackout and the eco-friendly initiative to reduce disposable toothbrush amenities. Located near a beautiful stream and a quiet zone. It's a 15 min walk from the hotel to the centre, but the free shuttle bus is very convenient.

I traveled alone and was assigned a non-smoking room on the 6th floor, but unfortunately, the smell of cigarette smoke was very strong and unpleasant. 2 issues with this hotel. I've been traveling a long time and I can tell when there is illegal surveillance going on in a hotel room. They are definitely monitoring the rooms via the TV and the many sensors. Second issue is the staff are very incompetent.
