A baby can be changed at the south-end diaper station and parents may rest in the Information Center, yet no nursing room, no stroller rental and midday congestion make the visit tiring and risky.
Note: Kuromon Market is 45% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Osaka for a more suitable experience.
Why 2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for a relaxed snack crawl, breaks at seating areas, and diaper changes without rushing.
Early Morning Stroll:
Walk the market from 9:00–10:00 when aisles are quieter for stroller access.
Tip: Bring a compact stroller and fold it quickly in narrow spots.
Melon Soft-Serve at MARU:
Enjoy half a melon topped with soft-serve in a small seating area.
Tip: Use their benches to feed or comfort your baby between bites.
Info Center Facilities:
Visit the south-end Kuromon Information Center for free diaper-changing station and rest area.
Tip: Carry your own change pad and hand sanitizer before use.
Fruit Daifuku at Mitoya:
Taste soft, chewy fruit daifuku—light sweetness is easy for parents to share.
Tip: Buy one to split; let baby nibble small pieces on your lap.
Fresh Juice Stand:
Grab mixed-fruit juice or lemonade for a healthy cool-down.
Tip: Ask vendors for less sugar if sharing a sip with your baby.

A tourist trap…. Lots of food and fresh seafood. 2nd time as a tourist here. Last was years ago. The market is now more crowded with tourists and prices have gone up a lot. Lesser of other things to see besides food and more food. Certainly can get nice food with lesser crowd if you are in Tokyo.

A very interesting experience… we get to explore and try the food.. All the seafood is so huge in size! Look at all the raw food, oyster, sea urchins, king crab and more… All are so fresh too.. Nyam!

We stayed next door during our time in Osaka and ended up going to the market every day. There’s so much to try—fresh seafood, incredible Wagyu, cold beers, and great Japanese whiskey. It does get crowded, but it’s totally doable and part of the fun. We had the best time exploring and tasting something new each visit!

We visited Kuromon Ichiba Market on a Saturday afternoon after lunch. It wasn't too crowded, as many stalls were starting to close, but it was still a great experience! There are so many fresh seafood and local food options and the best part is that many stalls will prepare, cook, and serve the food to you right on the spot. Everything looked delicious and fresh. It would probably be even more l...

One of my favourite markets. You get a variety of food all in one place. I always come for sushi, strawberries and fresh seafood. Though this recent visit, a lot of stalls have changed and it’s more catered to tourists now. You’ll definitely have to walk around before you decide where you want to dine at.
