Couples enjoy dolphin shows, dim jellyfish hall and terrace sea views for photos and breaks, but weekend crowds and many families reduce romantic atmosphere.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Couples can catch main shows, explore both halls, and enjoy a port-side terrace break without rushing.
Dolphin Performance “BLUE ECHO”:
Watch dolphins leap and swim in Japan’s largest marine pool.
Tip: Arrive 10 minutes early for center seats and better photos.
Beluga “Under the Northern Lights”:
See belugas play under colored lights while keepers explain their behavior.
Tip: Bookend your visit with this show; it’s less crowded midweek.
Tornado of Sardines:
Observe 35,000 sardines swirl in unison in a giant tank.
Tip: Stand at a slight angle to the glass to catch the spiral patterns.
Shiokaze Plaza Terrace:
Sip coffee outdoors with a view of Nagoya Port.
Tip: Visit in late afternoon for cooler breeze and sunset colors.
Observation Lounge (Common Ticket):
Go 53m up to see sweeping port and city skyline views.
Tip: Time your visit 30 minutes before closing to watch the lights come on.

This is one of my favorite aquariums in Japan. It has a wide variety of marine species. The dolphins are very cute. The show is incredible; you can see the sparkle in the children's eyes and their smiles when they see the dolphins jumping out of the water and hitting the balls high above. There's a large shop for souvenirs. In the outdoor area near the aquarium, there's a shopping mall with great ...

This was taken last Saturday. In the middle of hot weather and jam-packed visitors, my friends and I enjoyed this place. The entrance fee is 2030 for adults. A lot of different shows to choose from but the highlight of them all is the dolphin show which lasted 20 minutes. Unfortunately, some of the shows have the same time as the Beluga and Tornado sardines so we chose to watch the Beluga show ins...

Visited on a Thursday afternoon, it was not crowded at all. Actually quite impressed with this aquarium, I found it even more impressive than say the one in Osaka. Felt very wholesome, lots of variety. Not sure how this place fares on a weekend, but I'd say give it a shot if you're in Nagoya.

The exhibits are well-designed, spacious, and showcase a diverse range of sea creatures, from adorable penguins to majestic killer whales. One of the highlights was the dolphin show, which was both entertaining and educational. The massive tanks allow visitors to see the...
