Babies are allowed and a 3F nursing room and diaper tables help, yet no stroller rental and prams barred in the planetarium force parents to carry infants and pack gear themselves.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to see major exhibits and allow breaks for feeding or napping.
Tornado Lab Demonstration:
Watch a nine-meter-high artificial tornado form in a glass chamber.
Tip: Stand near the stroller parking zone for a clear view and keep baby’s gaze focused on the swirling funnel.
Deep Freezing Lab:
Experience a –30°C Polar Room and view a full-scale aurora display.
Tip: Bring a warm blanket for your baby and limit time inside to avoid chill.
Electric Discharge Lab:
See four-meter-long lightning bolts crack through the air on demand.
Tip: Position stroller at the back row to protect baby from loud noises.
Planetarium Show:
Relax under a 20m dome with baby in a sling to watch star fields.
Tip: Book seats 15 minutes early and use a baby carrier since strollers are not allowed inside.

The place was interesting, but I only stayed for 10 minutes because it was so crowded. The staff were also friendly, especially the elderly lady outside. Even though my Japanese isn’t very fluent, she patiently guided me. I truly admire her work ethic despite her age. Wishing her good health always.

Fun science museum! Four floors of interactive demonstrations enjoyed by both kids and adults. The special exhibit was too academic for my kids, not helped by Japanese-only signage (thanks, Google Lens!), but was an interesting study of Japanese ancestral heritage.

Loved this iconic museum and planetarium in Nagoya. The museum if 100% kids friendly, you will see a lot of families coming. The exhibitis are very interactive, and there is a planetarium with presentations happening often, which I recommend. I also attended a science demonstration aimed at children, which was very nice.

Every physical law you can imagine, you can try out and test if it's true, how it works etc.... The planetarium is wonderful too, however the show is only in Japanese. Sadly the museum closes at 5pm so we were n...
