Children can run on lawns, try small playground and fishing, and join free animal-center classes, yet there is no large play equipment and pond edges lack railings, so close supervision is needed.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Children can enjoy open play, pond fishing and the observation deck in a relaxed afternoon.
Lawn picnic near Nekogahora Pond:
Set up a blanket on the grassy shores and let kids run or play tag.
Tip: Bring a lightweight picnic blanket and pre-packed bento to save time.
Kids’ pond fishing:
Children can try simple fishing at the concrete pond edges.
Tip: Bring small rods and basic bait; arrive early to claim a spot.
Aquatower observation deck:
Climb or ride the elevator to the 40 m deck for views over the city and hills.
Tip: Deck opens only on weekends and holidays—check the city website before you go.
Cherry blossom viewing:
In late March to early April, 1,500 cherry trees burst into bloom.
Tip: Visit on a weekday morning to avoid crowds and spread out under the blossoms.
Nature scavenger hunt:
Give kids a checklist of birds, insects and plants to find around the park.
Tip: Print a simple list beforehand and hand it to each child on arrival.

Heiwa park has always been one of my favorite places to go to just to release stress or have time for myself. The park is very safe and peaceful. There are so many wide spaces available for fishing, for camping, or for playing sports too. The sunset view is really nice here!

Really beautiful place, there is a decent size lake where you can fish. There is also several smaller parks with many thinks kids would like. o like coming her for my morning run as even in the summer this place is cool. Also it’s is really beautiful in spring too because of the cherry blossoms.

Really great place experience Sakura. Bus 11 stops in a middle of the two park. There is a large fishing lake also just 200m away. Vending machines available, public toilets also. This place has a far more Sakura three than Tsurumai Park and a way more space. Lot of people but lot of space as larger park. Recommend Highly!

Love this place. Easy to go to with bus just a bus ride from the train station or a 1.5km walk. Few crowd, tons of cherry blossom, nice place to spend time with family.
