School-age kids get cheap entry, a boarding certificate, mannequins to spot, and a dramatic ice film, yet steep ladders need close adult help and strollers are banned.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to explore the deck, ship interior and watch the short immersive video without tiring the kids.
Collect the boarding certificate:
Get a keepsake certificate on entry for each family member.
Tip: Let each child choose their favorite spot for a fun photo when you receive it.
Mannequin spotting game:
Count lifelike mannequins placed in each room as a simple scavenger hunt.
Tip: Give kids a small checklist or draw to mark off each sighting.
Explore the crew quarters:
Visit the dining hall, medical room and bridge to see original equipment.
Tip: Point out the telegraph and radar rooms to spark their imagination.
Gokukan Dramatic Theater:
Watch a 5–10 minute four-screen show of Antarctic ice and wildlife.
Tip: Check show times on arrival to minimize waiting around.
Deck photo walk:
Stroll the open deck to see the orange hull and onboard helicopter.
Tip: Bring a windbreaker in winter or hats in summer for comfort on deck.

Easy way to spend just under an hour and they have free wifi. But I enjoyed walking through the ship and the whole pier area.
