Nice performance to get acquainted with some Japanese traditions and culture. I really appreciated the translation device given cause it made it easy for me to understand what is exactly happening on the stage and what’s the history behind it. I think it’s a good place to visit if you’d like something different from sightseeing.

Beautiful but extremely crowded area. The temples are beautiful and the crowds thin out a bit the further uphill you wander but the amount of people and stalls and shops diminishes the natural beauty there. Make sure to wear good shoes in this area!

Some places in Gion I was able to take photos. Some areas have been prohibited due to many foreigners interrupting the daily business and culture where Geisha and Maiko work. Please don’t take photos of the locals. There are many foreigners who dress up like them so taking photos of the look-alike is much more respectful of the locals.

Tours bought most of the seats and the theater only allows a certain capacity. I attended the 6pm showing with a ticket purchased in advanced. The show was sold out, so purchasing in advanced is a must. The f...
