Flat, stroller-friendly paths and one toilet with a changing table help caregivers, but no nursing room, uneven ground near water, and possible congestion mean extra planning for feeding and safety.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to stroll, rest, and enjoy a short rickshaw tour without tiring the baby.
Stroll on paved river paths:
Walk along flat paths on Nakanoshima Island beside the Katsura River.
Tip: Bring a lightweight stroller and start early to avoid crowds.
Rest at riverside benches:
Use benches along the riverbank to feed or change the baby.
Tip: The west “Sakura” toilet nearby has a diaper-changing table.
Short rickshaw tour:
Enjoy a 12-minute ride across Togetsukyo Bridge with the baby free on your lap.
Tip: Book in advance and bring a hat for sun protection.
Picnic under seasonal trees:
Spread a blanket on grass under cherry blossoms or maple trees.
Tip: Pack easy snacks and a groundsheet for damp grass.

We accidentally found this place and no regrets, nice place with bridge view and water sounds. Some movie shooting was also happening when we were there.

Park is very wide and by the river, pretty relaxing. It is near the train station so it does get crowded. Visited on 2nd Apr, 5:30pm, and sakura was still 60% bloomed only. Do come back when it’s full bloom.

The view of Hozugawa Valley from the summit is enchanting😍🤩! The Hozugawa River has boat rides and boat rentals. The river bank has benches, beautiful trees, food and drinks. The Togetsukyo Bridge is inviting to walk through.
