What makes it 89% Couple-Friendly: The panorama, sunrise-sunset colours and a swing for two make a memorable date, and a restaurant lets you linger, though crowds form at peak times and you must pay the toll road.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Time to drive up, catch golden-hour views, dine, and explore photo spots
Golden-hour panorama:
Watch sunrise or sunset over Mt. Fuji and Sagami Bay from the 360° deck
Tip: Arrive 30 minutes early and check golden-hour times
Hakone no Buranko swing:
Take a couple selfie on the large wooden swing with Mt. Fuji in the background
Tip: Use your phone’s timer and trade places for a perfect shot
Anest Iwata Sky Lounge dining:
Share a hot soba or ramen bowl and enjoy coffee on the second-floor tea lounge
Tip: Order a noodle dish (~¥1,000) and 250 ¥ coffee with free refill
Drive the Anest Iwata Turnpike:
Enjoy seasonal cherry blossoms, hydrangea, or autumn leaves en route
Tip: Budget ¥900 each way and stop at scenic pullouts

First time here, perfect view of Mt Fuji and lots of room to park. Has food, drinks, toilets, and 3 flavours of ice cream.

Lovely drive from Chiba towards Izu we pass by the observation deck to catch a glimpse of Mt Fuji. The rest area has restaurants and toilets

Few tourists and great view of Fuji-san (Mount Fuji). We were lucky to visit this place with good weather. You can see Fuji-san from the parking lot, and even better when you walk into the Sky Lounge. There is a giant swing what reminds me of “Heidi of the Alps” anime. The Sky Lounge contains a food court (snacks to light meal) and restroom. Very much a Showa period building.

Awesome view of Mt Fuji without the crowds. This place can only be reached if you drive so that means absolutely few tourists compared to Hakone area. Much better than Owakudani. We went twice on sunrise and sunset in decemeber. Careful slippery carpark with ice

Really cool spot to see both Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji, would recommend coming here if you have a car. There is also places to buy food and drinks and toilets, and a swing photo spot.
In spring, spot cherry blossoms along the turnpike; summer brings hydrangea blooms; autumn offers fiery foliage; winter yields clear skies—dress warmly
