A shrine located at the heart of the city. Didn’t get to know the history of the shrine, but it’s a place where you would feel calm and peaceful in the hustles of the city.

This place caught my eye as I was having coffee nearby. The shrine is located within the shopping area of Tenjin and beside the Blue bottle cafe. It is a small shrine and very accessible. I noticed a lot of people go here. For me, it's also a must visit place in Fukuoka.

When is the best time to visit Kego Shrine (Fukuoka, Japan)?

In spring, picnic under cherry blossoms in Kego Park. In autumn, look for colorful maple leaves and draw seasonal omikuji. During New Year (Jan 1–7), extended shrine office hours mean extra time for stamps and special ema.
