Yamadaya Hotel (couple trip)

Amazing experience! It is an authentic stay and you should absolutely get dinner and breakfast! They are delicious and traditional. We were lucky to be able to see Fuji. Has some great walks nearby and very accessible by bus. They have the private onsen, the room bath and also the public onsen, all of which is great and the public onsen is open all night long. I was very clean after my visit.

Yamadaya is a hotel to give a view of Fuji Mt right out of window, no bullshit. It is apparently run by a local lovely family and for the family. This place is very old and run down. The walls are chipping and have lots of stains, tub is dirty and just overall gross. I was really looking forward to this location because of the reviews but instead I felt like I was in the hood. We did not stay and this was a waste of money. I trawled the internet to find a day-use onsen with a great view of Fuji and found Yamadaya.
