The view from the balcony and outside is lovely, with Lake Shoji looking beautiful and being close, the Aokigahara Forest adding onto the amazing scenery and the lava-cooled land adding onto the unique scenery, and Mt. Fuji itself being the main highlight of the scenery—beautifully completing the unique and distinct scenery that barely other hotels can match...

The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. Great and warm service including a welcome drink, free simple breakfast with the owner there to greet and guide you throughout. The views from the traditional Japanese rooms are perfect, right on the water plus a rooftop viewing area. The restaurant was great too with a small but delicious menu. You won’t be disappointed staying here.

The hotel staff was incredibly kind. My boyfriend and I don't speak any Japanese, but we translated on our phones which worked great! When going to site see, the hotel staff checked on the bus schedule and got us accurate times to go to and from. They also recommended some great places to see and eat. This was a truly lovely experience. From the greeting, where Kobayashi-san took our photo upon arrival in front of the fabulous view... to the charming tatami floored rooms with paper doors.
