What makes it 77% Solo-Friendly: A solo visitor can pay €2, slip a hand into the mask, tour the 6th-century church, and be done in 40 minutes, so the site fits tight itineraries even though there are no on-site toilets or lockers.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Allows time to queue, test the mask, explore the church interior and crypt

Place your hand inside the Mouth of Truth and snap a solo shot

Explore Santa Maria in Cosmedin:

Tip: Enter through the side door to avoid the main crowd and pause at the St. Valentine relics
Visit the 8th-century crypt:

Tip: Carry a €1 donation in cash; lighting is dim, so use your phone’s torch
Self-guided audio tour:

Wheelchair access via a gate right by the mouth of truth. A helpful member of staff opened it for us. Step to get in which was somewhat challenging. Church attached was nice for a quick visit.

Anyone that has seen Roman Holiday has visited the "Mouth of Truth" when in Rome. Fun and a great diversion.

Nice small tourist location with "la bocca della verità", a small, beautiful church and gift shop. I had to wait for about 15 minutes to get to the mouth. The security there was very helpful and made sure that everyone had a moment to take photos and then move along. It's a lovely place worth the short wait!
