Entering the Duomo of Naples while a Mass was in progress immediately changed the perception of the space. The cathedral did not feel like a monument to be observed, but like a living place where architecture, art, and devotion are still actively intertwined. Gorgeous! Such beautiful church, with amazing ceiling. The altar is simply sublime and the Duomo paintings are just amazing. Don't miss the Cripta di San Gennaro. This is a must do when in Napoli!

The Duomo is absolutely beautiful inside and out: soaring architecture, beautiful chapels, and incredibly detailed artwork everywhere you look. The atmosphere is peaceful, and you can really feel the history of the city within its walls.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Duomo di Santa Maria in Naples. It's beautifully preserved, with stunning sculptures and paintings that truly showcase the artistry of the period. The atmosphere feels serene and respectful, making it a great spot to pause and appreciate both the architect...

A stunning cathedral. My wife and I can across this place while casually wandering around the shops. It snuck up on us a little bit, we knew of it but not its exact location. And what a wonderful surprise it was. Perhaps the most beautiful building we've ever been in. Just look at the pics which give an idea. It's free, but I'd suggest donating.
On September 19, join the feast of San Gennaro inside the cathedral for a vibrant local ritual; in summer, visit mid-afternoon when the cool interior offers respite from the heat.
