What makes it 78% Solo-Friendly: The aquarium’s 2-hour path, free guided backstage tours and quiet benches let a solo visitor explore at own pace, take photos and learn marine biology, but its small size limits time on site.
Why 2 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Allows time for the main exhibits and a reserved behind-the-scenes tour without rushing.
Self-guided exhibition path:
Follow panels from mountain springs through 10 freshwater and 12 saltwater tanks and walk under fish in the glass tunnel.
Tip: Start at the top floor and descend to avoid back-tracking.
Behind-the-Scenes tour:
Join a 30-minute small-group tour of filtration and life-support systems led by an aquarium biologist.
Tip: Reserve your free spot online at least one week before your visit.
Photograph Art Nouveau architecture:
Admire Locati’s Liberty-style façade and Labò’s Neptune fountain set in Parco Sempione.
Tip: Arrive early for soft morning light on the reliefs.
Request Hydrobiological Station library access:
Ask staff about the former marine biology library and any public lectures.
Tip: Call +39-02-88465750 in advance to confirm availability.

Free on the first Sunday of the month! The sights may be few, but the atmosphere is excellent..quiet and inspiring. So if you are passing by, come and take a look 🐟🐠🪸

We had lots of fun, as I was with 5 kids and it wasn't crowded. Still this is a small place and isn't an attraction. If you are around drop by. Not more.

Not so big, but nice to see. Valuable for money, 10 EUR for 2+2 family. 30 minutes visit.

Nice small aquarium in the park for kids. One circle round of fish could probably completed in an hour. The fish are mainly from the nearby areas. The Milan card can also be used.

I really enjoyed all the fish and anemome that were part of the exhibit. I think the stingrays might have been my favourites but each fish was special in its own way. I recommend going, especially if you have children. The exhibit isn't that big so depending on you interest, the visit can take you anywhere from 40 minutes to an 1h and a half.
Visit on the first or third Tuesday after 14:00 or on the first Sunday of each month for free entry.
