How Kids-Friendly is Pitti Palace?

81%Kids-Friendly
View Map

What makes it 81% Kids-Friendly: Under-18s enter free and scavenger hunts or kid tours turn Medici lore into play, yet many stairs, packed halls, and no-touch rules make parents monitor energy and volume constantly.

(from 33,110 reviews)

Positives:

  • Free entry for kids: Children under 18 enter free with each paying adult ticket.
  • Stroller access: Elevator in the main courtyard serves the first two floors; garden paths are mostly level.
  • Rest spots: Benches in the gardens and armchairs in the Baby Pit-Stop rooms provide frequent breaks.

Challenges:

  • Many stairs: Interior halls have multiple staircases and uneven marble floors.
  • Crowds at peak times: Ticket lines form quickly and narrow galleries fill up around midday.
  • Limited shade: Some garden areas offer little shade in high summer temperatures.

Sweet place to see, ornamental ceilings, and lots of amazing art. Get the combined 5 day ticket with Uffizi if you want to save some coin, let's you see the palace and gardens combined alongside an amazing gallery. Docking one point because the proximity sensors in the modern art gallery section were so sensitive, sometimes you don't know what even set the alarm off.

We recently had the chance to visit the stunning Palazzo Pitti and its breathtaking Galleria Palatina in Florence. The exterior already impresses with its bold Renaissance symmetry and monumental scale – but stepping inside is like entering a different world. Lavishly decorated rooms, dazzling chandeliers, and finely detailed ceilings create a royal atmosphere that leaves you speechless. Every sp...

We only had about two hours spare and we chose to see the Modern Art exhibit… not modern art as one would normally expect to see… modern Italian art (1700s- early 1900s) would be more accurate. On a very hot day, it was a refuge from the sun and if we had more time, it would have been good to see more!

This was the perfect way to end of visit to Firenze. We spent a leisurely day exploring the Palazzo and Boboli Gardens. The fashion exhibit was magnificent... what made it so unique was the paintings that matched the time period of the dresses. It provided a layer of depth that is different from any other museum we've visited. The rooms were magnificent as to be expected. I sat and absorbed so...

The highlights are the Palatine Gallery (full of famous paintings) and the chance to explore the connected Boboli Gardens. It’s a bit overwhelming in size, and some areas might be closed for restoration. Buy tickets online to skip the lines, and wear comfy shoes – you’ll do lots of walking
