What makes it 68% Baby-Friendly: Strollers roll on level stones and benches allow feeding breaks, plus Palazzo Vecchio offers a free nursing room, yet constant crowds, uneven cobbles, and limited shade reduce comfort.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows a relaxed stroll, baby breaks and a quick peek inside Palazzo Vecchio’s Baby Pit Stop
Stroll the open‐air sculpture museum:
Walk around the square to see Neptune Fountain, the Medici equestrian statue and Cellini’s Perseus under the Loggia dei Lanzi.
Tip: Use the flat stone surface for easy stroller movement and pause on benches near the Loggia for shade.
Visit the Palazzo Vecchio Baby Pit Stop:
Enter the museum to use the UNICEF-supported Baby Pit Stop with changing table and nursing chairs.
Tip: Buy Palazzo Vecchio tickets in advance; entry is €15 per adult, free for babies. Bring your stroller in the cloakroom.
Sit by the Rinascente changing area:
Head to La Rinascente’s top‐floor restroom for a padded bench and changing table.
Tip: Make a small café purchase (€5) to access the restroom and nurse in comfort.
In summer, seek shade under the Loggia; in winter, bring layered clothing and enjoy smaller crowds.

We stayed right in the square, great location to be, along distance from all popular sites and shopping. Low noise at night so sleeping wasn't a problem.

Wonderful piazza 🥰 we stopped here to let our son scoot freely. Simply staring around feels like a gift because of its beauty. You will find a replica of David here and Perseus with Medusa’s head. Florence is indeed a heaven for art lovers.

A stunning piazza with an amazing array of statues including a statue of David which looks small against the amazing backdrop of buildings. We were lucky to listen to an orchestra one evening as well. A great place to sit and people watch in the evenings.
