What makes it 60% Baby-Friendly: Paths are stroller-friendly and babies ride the wheel free, but nursing rooms appear only at some fairs and diaper change is in shared toilets, so parents must plan and bring essentials.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows a gentle walk, a Ferris wheel ride, and a visit to one exhibition without rushing.
Fortress rampart walk:
Follow flat, paved paths around the moat and walls.
Tip: Start at the main gate for clear stroller access and quieter routes.
Florence Eye panoramic wheel:
Climb into a rotating cabin for city views over the fortress.
Tip: Buy tickets at opening to avoid lines; baby under two rides free.
Mostra Internazionale dell’Artigianato:
Explore artisans at work in the Spadolini and Cavaniglia pavilions.
Tip: Use the family ticket (€14) to cover two adults and your baby.
Florence Ice Village and Santa’s Village:
Wander wooden huts and decorations around the fortress pond.
Tip: Let your baby nap in the stroller while you browse free village areas.

FYI- I was told it was only for private events. So you can walk around it, see the medieval fortress from the outside, and explore the cute city park and lake nearby (Fontana della Fortezza da Basso), but you won’t be able to see much inside. I recommend a nice sit on a bench under a tree with the chirping crocuses around!!! Much of the outside of the fortress is also under construction as of July...

Whether it's a fashion event like Pitti Uomo or another international exhibition, Fortezza provides a unique and inspiring backdrop. The blend of beautifully preserved historical elements, like the ancient walls and internal monuments, with dedicated, modern exhibition spaces like the Spadolini and Cavaniglia Pavilions, creates a truly dynamic atmosphere. Beyond its impressive event capabilities, ...

Recommended doing a tour in the historical part, otherwise it's just a place for events.

Looks pretty cool outside but currently have areas under construction (maybe in preparation for the jubilee next year). Separate buildings inside where multiple events are hosted (sometimes simultaneously). Very accessible with stops for the bus and the tram just outside the entrance.

Beautiful, I made a walk all around and it changes from a relaxing European style park with pond, ducks and beautifully made fountain that looks like a spring from a rock, than urban city style then modern again. Inside there are big venues and beautifully preserved monuments.
In winter (Dec–Jan), the ice rink and Christmas market run around the moat; bring warm layers. In late April–early May, the crafts fair occupies the halls; pack light for stroller ease.
