What makes it 67% Kids-Friendly: Children enter free or cheaply, have grass outside for a pre-game picnic, and can watch Gaelic stars, yet loud chants, long queues, and no indoor play zone reduce comfort for younger ones.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time for a match, picnic, and a seaside walk without rushing the kids.
Attend a lower-division Gaelic match:
Experience live Gaelic football or hurling in a calmer atmosphere.
Tip: Arrive 30 minutes early for family seating and bring ear defenders for younger kids.
Picnic on the stadium lawn:
Spread a blanket on the grass by the main entrance.
Tip: Pack sandwiches and water bottle; let kids play safely before gates open.
Connacht seafront walk:
Follow the path from the stadium to Salthill promenade.
Tip: Wear comfortable shoes and stop for an ice cream at the seaside café.

This is the home of Galway Hurling & Football. A basic but nice stadium with a capacity of circa 26000. Fabulous on a sunny day but be sure to bring a coat/jacket if it is not summer conditions. Because even if fine it gets quite cold there. 1 covered stand with good seating but be there early as this fills up first. Plenty of basic toilet facilities . Usually a burger van (Super Macs )and a few t...

A great day ay Pearse Stadium with the new grandstand and a vocal cowd who cheered home the locals to a solid victory over Wexford 1-29 to 2 -16. Far too many mistakes from Wexford and the better team won on the day. This was our 1st visit to the park in 2 years and we were very impressed with the improvements to the seating and ground capacity which was nowhere near full on the day..

A fine stadium. Just a pity that the children can't view the game on a busy game day from the terrace as their view is generally obstructed by taller people. Also then when they go down to the fence, that's too tough for them to look out over it.

Very modern stand, good seating, toilets very modern. Very well equipped area for food service. Very nice for a visit.

Facilities are poor and, as Galway is a big GAA county, there is a big need for an upgrade. But the place does have a great atmosphere which is why you'd be coming here in the first place. I'm here for the Dublin match later but I've attached a few photos and a short video of Galway v Limerick in hurling.
On sunny days, bring sunscreen and hats for the promenade walk. In cooler months, wear layers and carry raincoats as weather can change quickly.
