Children are allowed, yet there is no playground, kids’ programme, or child menu; long walks, bunkers and water demand full supervision, so only golf-playing kids will enjoy the visit.
Note: Galway Golf Club is 35% Kids-Friendly. You may want to consider other Kids-Friendly Things to Do in Galway for a more suitable experience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows a short family round, seaside walk, practice session, and a snack break without overtiring the kids.
Play the 18-hole championship course:
Book a tee time and let kids aged 12+ try the par-70 layout while adults enjoy the full challenge.
Tip: Reserve online at least 48 hours ahead and ask about junior rates.
Use practice facilities:
Try the indoor swing room, driving nets, putting green, and short-game area.
Tip: Bring own clubs or rent a buggy to carry gear, then rotate adults and kids so everyone gets play time.
Explore the seaside holes:
Walk the first four holes along Galway Bay through the underground tunnel under the road.
Tip: Wear non-slip shoes and plan this as a break between shots on the main course.
Relax in Bar & Dining Room:
Order snacks or hot drinks and enjoy 180° bay views with kids in high chairs.
Tip: Call ahead to reserve a window table and request up to three baby chairs.
Visit late spring to early autumn for longer daylight, calmer seas, and firmer turf. In winter expect mud and shorter opening hours; bring waterproof layers.

Had a lovely lunch here today with my Mother. And a very special thanks to the lovely staff in the restaurant who went out of their way to accommodate us, as my Mother has serious mobility issues over the past year. We like to take her here these days for the food, ambiance, views and great staff.

I got the salmon and it had a de...

One of the finest courses on the west coast of Ireland. Not long, but challenging. The club house of fantastic and has a great menu. You will not leave hungry.

Course was in great condition. Lovely lay out of challenging mid length holes. Wind blows on first 4 and gets blocked off a bit starting at 5. Great North Atlantic golf experience.

Lovely course. A bit tough so bring plenty of golf balls. Got beer delivered to the 10th tee box. Plensent staff.
