Babies can ride cradle swings and nap along buggy-friendly loops, but parents must confirm baby-changing space in the community centre because none is listed inside the park itself.

Positives:

  • Easy Parking: Free car park right next to playground and loop entrances.
  • Smooth Paths: Tarmac loops ensure comfortable pushchair access.
  • Nearby Toilets: Public restrooms and baby-friendly toilets in Knocknacarra Community Centre next door.

Challenges:

  • No Nursing Room: Park lacks a dedicated private feeding space.
  • No Changing Table: No baby-changing table in toilets; bring a portable mat.
  • Limited Shelter: Picnic benches are not under roof; plan around rain.

Most dog owners at the park are very decent people with well trained dogs. Unfortunately there are a few individuals that are not and I have been accosted by dogs on a few occasions while exercising in the park. In particular, there is a white and tan terrier that the owner refuses to put on a leash even though the dog will accost any person who happens to be on the pitch. The dog owner will then...

Cappagh Park is a lovely, well-maintained green space—perfect for walking, jogging, or a family outing. Great playground for kids, peaceful trails, and plenty of open areas. Clean, safe, and a great escape within the city. Highly recommended!

Lovely park , unfortunately the storms has knocked a lot of trees (NOT tree pruning as a recent review stated ) Great walk, nice and peaceful for the most part. Lots of places to sit . Unfortunately most of it ruined in the afternoon / evening by off lead , poorly controlled dogs being excercised by owners. All dogs are required to be on a lead under section 9 of Control of Dogs Act 1986 unfort...

Wonderful, what a fabulous wood in the middle of Galway A great place for children to explore. Lots of trails. The children reckon they heard and saw an owl inside a hollowed out tree. Great photo opportunities. Loved this place.
