Children are legally welcome only until 21:00, there is no kids’ menu or play space, noise is high, and standing room crowds can quickly tire or overwhelm those under 12.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to hear live music, enjoy the beer garden, and grab a family meal.
Hear Live Irish Music:
Catch daytime sessions of fiddle, flute and ballads.
Tip: Visit between 11 AM–5 PM when children under 15 enter free.

Spend time in the pub’s only licensed outdoor garden.
Tip: Arrive early to secure a table before peak dinner hours.
Try Simple Pub Meals:
Order fries, soup or pizza slices with kid-friendly soft drinks.
Tip: Ask staff for the day’s child-friendly recommendations.
Explore the Whiskey Reserve:
View over 2,000 bottles in Ireland’s largest private collection.
Tip: Visit during quieter hours for an uncrowded walk through the display.
In summer, the garden fills with flowers and sunshine. In winter, indoor seating warms up with live music. Weekdays are quieter than weekends for families.

If you're looking for a quintessential Dublin experience, Temple Bar is it. This iconic pub, dating back to 1840, is packed to the rafters with tourists, known for its electric atmosphere, daily live music, and Ireland’s largest whiskey collection. We had a Guinness which I swear tasted better than anywhere else, followed by a couple of Jameson whiskeys.

Can’t not go here whilst visiting Dublin. Price obviously high but to be expected but great vibe! If you want to go when it’s quiet I’d recommend before midday! Service a little slow despite how quiet it was but not too long thankfully! 🇮🇪

I visited the famous Temple Bar pub in Dublin and it was a great experience. The Guinness was excellent, and the live music added to the lively atmosphere. The place is very busy both inside and outside, so be prepared to stand rather than sit, but that’s part of the fun. Overall, a lively spot and definitely worth checking out if you’re in Dublin.

Temple Bar might be a tourist trap, but it's a good one! The atmosphere is fantastic. We had a great time enjoying the live music and grabbing some excellent snacks. Definitely worth a visit.

Had a 14 hour layover in Dublin and had to come here for a pint! It was very lively and busy, but I didn’t have to line up to get in. It was also during the Oasis comeback, so some of the songs were spot on. I was solo and it was easy to meet others and chat. I’m sure other reviews will say this but the drinks are pricier than other places, but they don’t charge a cover. Overall I had a good time ...
