How Kids-Friendly is Temple Bar?

49%Kids-Friendly

What makes it 49% Kids-Friendly: The Ark theatre and food market give daytime fun, but rowdy alcohol scene after 7 pm, limited child toilets and constant street noise curb suitability for kids under 12.

Positives:

  • Live street performances: Musicians and actors perform daily in the square, creating an entertaining backdrop without extra cost.
  • Pedestrian zone: Cars are banned in main areas, so children can run safely among the stalls and installations.

Challenges:

  • Uneven cobblestones: Streets are paved with old stones that can be slippery when wet and tricky for strollers.
  • Crowded evenings: Narrow lanes fill up after 5 pm, so consider an earlier visit to avoid bottlenecks.

Everything was perfect. The drinks, the atmosphere, and the live singers. This is the place I would recommend visitors and locals to enjoy live music. Christmas decorations was also up in November! Do note that you have to secure your own table before ordering at the bar counter.

We were shocked to walk in (just before Halloween/Samhain) and see the place already decked out for Christmas. Had a drink to say we did, not as expensive as people say, listened to the live music for a bit then left! Definitely busy but worth it for the atmosphere! Friendly Staff!

During my visit in October, this was one of the most enjoyable bars I went to, beautifully decorated with a Christmas theme. The white-haired singer performing on stage was an incredibly talented artist who took the bar’s atmosphere to another level. When we went, it was absolutely packed we had a hard time getting inside, but that didn’t stop us. While ordering a pint at the bar, I met two Irish ...
