How Baby-Friendly is Uluwatu Temple?

Babies enter free, yet stroller use is tough on stepped, uneven paths, and loud chants may upset infants. No nursing room or change table means parents must change and feed wherever possible.

Note: Uluwatu Temple is 45% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Bali for a more suitable experience.

Considerations for visiting Uluwatu Temple (with baby)

Positives:

  • Free infant admission: Children under 4 enter free, saving on entrance costs.
  • Free sarong rental: Temple provides sarongs and sashes at no extra cost for dress code compliance.
  • West viewpoint seating: Benches near the ocean offer shaded spots for feeding and rest.

Challenges:

  • Uneven terrain: Steps and rough stones make strollers hard to use beyond the entrance; use a baby carrier.
  • Limited baby facilities: No dedicated changing table or nursing room; bring your own mat and wipes.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: This gives time to walk the grounds, spot monkeys, and relax at the ocean viewpoint without rushing.

One of the most iconic temples in Bali, perched dramatically on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. The view at sunset is absolutely stunning — a must-see experience. The atmosphere is peaceful and deeply spiritual, and it's one of the most sacred sites for Balinese Hindus. You can also enjoy the traditional Kecak dance performance at the open-air theatre during sunset — a unique cultural exper...

Been there by rental bike and there was bit traffic on the way but reached on time. This place is for all kids families and adults and one can enjoy cliffs view including a sunset or sunrise. At the entrance buy tickets and get the dress on as part of local tradition then get in to explore the place and its history. It’s so peaceful and there is statues other side. Spiritually at its best surround...

Stunning cliffside temple with ocean views and cultural charm. Uluwatu Temple (Pura Luhur Uluwatu) is one of Bali’s most iconic sea temples, perched dramatically on the edge of a 70-meter-high cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. The views here are absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunset, when the sky glows and waves crash against the rocks below — a photographer’s dream! The temple its...
