Couples enjoy romantic sunrise and sunset strolls on black sand, candlelit beachfront dinners, and shared boat tours, though rough waves rule out swimming together.
Why 3-4 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Enough time to see dolphins, stroll the shore, and relax without rushing.
Sunrise dolphin-watching boat tour:
Board a local wooden boat to watch wild dolphins at dawn.
Tip: Book before 6 AM to avoid crowds and bring a light jacket for morning sea breeze.
Sunset stroll on black sand:
Walk hand in hand along the volcanic shoreline at dusk.
Tip: Arrive 30 minutes before sunset for best sky colors and bring a camera for silhouettes.
Banjar hot springs visit:
Soak in natural sulfur pools surrounded by jungle greenery.
Tip: Wear water shoes on rocky paths and visit late afternoon to avoid glare.
Balinese cooking class:
Learn to prepare a 5-course traditional meal and shop at the local market.
Tip: Choose small-group sessions and indicate dietary preferences in advance.
Beachfront candlelit dinner:
Dine on fresh seafood under lantern light on the sand.
Tip: Reserve a waterside table at Sea Breeze before your visit and request a corner spot.

Drove for hours to get there and there was nothing worth seeing

Sadly it was full of waste. Black Sand is here but also a lot of bigger stones. So it is not a easy way into the water. Also there was a dead dog laying on the beach. But you will most likely not see any other people.

beautiful beach with black sand. a lot of rubbish at the high tide mark. very few people, mostly locals and not many tourists at all. a nice and curious contrast to white sand beach nearby. a must visit if you’re in padang bai!
